Rules and Regulations for 2009-2010
Hunting Season
1. Annual membership dues will be $750.00 per year (May 20, 2009 - May 20, 2010) and subject to change only to land lease increase. All dues must be paid in full and mailed to Rack and Spur Hunting Club, P. O. Box 805, Wedowee, Alabama 36278 by May 20th to cover lease costs. Club memberships will be filled as a "first come first serve" basis. Also a $50.00 per month late fee for dues paid after May 20th.
2. The maximum number of members to the Rack and Spur Hunting Club will be thirty-five (35) paid members with Mr. Harold Horton as an honorary member.
3. The election of officers and board of directors will be held in March of each year.
4. The rules and regulations were adopted in 1988 and incorporated in 1991. Some rules have been changed, amended, deleted, etc. as of June 2006.
5. Each member is required to work a minimum of two (2) club workdays. One (1) club workday constitutes 8 hours (2 - 4 hour days or 1 - 8 hour day). These workdays are usually scheduled during the two weekends following the opening weekend of Dove season. Board of directors will organize and direct working club members to tasks and work to be performed. Any club member that does not complete the required workdays must pay $75.00 per 8 hours before a hunting permit card is issued at the beginning of hunting season. Board of directors will make needed arrangements for those who cannot make the assigned dates.
6. Members that utilize the club house or house amenities are expected to contribute in keeping the area clean and picked-up (taking bagged trash home on weekends, no cans or bottles in burn barrels). Club members that wish to stay overnight in club cabin must pay $10.00 per day or $40.00 per month.
HUNTING CLUB RULES:
1. All members are required to:
A. Abide by all state and county hunting regulations.
B. Be responsible for the actions of himself and any guest of which he or she may bring to hunt with the club.
C. Protect and respect the rights, land and livestock of landowners, and the rights of other hunters.
2. All members or guests of the RACK AND SPUR HUNTING CLUB will be fined or banned from the club for the following club violations:
A. If a member kills and illegal deer or kills a deer by illegal methods will be fined one hundred dollars ($100.00) for the first offence and deals with state law. If he commits another violation of this nature, in the same season, he will be banned from the hunting club. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
B. Members and guests can be banned from the club for abusing landowner’s property.
3. Guest and visitor rules:
A. Any club member can bring a guest with five (5) allowable visits at a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) per day visitor’s fee and be provided a guest card. All guests and visitors will be accompanied by inviting club member.
B. There is a seventy-five dollar ($75.00) trophy fee for any buck harvested by a guest or visitor and are required to comply with buck antler restrictions.
C. There will be no guest or visitor invitations during the month of January. However, a guest or visitor can hunt the month of January if first pays the next seasons dues in full (seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00)) with twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each day hunted in January and a seventy-five dollar ($75.00) fee for each trophy harvest.
4. Club member family rules:
A. Club member spouses hunt free. Member’s children at high school age (18) that are attending school hunt free. Club member’s children at fifteen (15) years and under must have adult supervision at all times during hunting periods. No children fifteen (15) and under will be left unattended in stand, blind, car, truck, camp, shooting house, and on four-wheelers.
B. Club members children attending college or vocations full-time, living at home or on campus, at age eighteen to twenty-two (18-22), membership is half-price (three hundred and seventy-five dollars ($375.00)) for said child.
C. Club members children ages eighteen to twenty-two (18-22) who are currently serving in the UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES (ARMY, NAVY, AIR-FORCE, MARINES) hunt, eat, and sleep FREE!!!
5. Hunting club buck and doe rules for the 2009-2010 hunting season:
A. All club members are allowed three (3) bucks this year. One buck can have three (3) points on one side, the other two (2) bucks have to be four point or more (better) on one side of rack.
B. All club members can harvest five (5) does this year. Does can only be harvested on food plots or green fields for the first three (3) weekends and the first two (2) mid weeks. All other doe harvests will be at least two hundred (200) yards from the nearest food plot or green field. Members doe harvest quota can be transferred to another club member.
C. All deer harvest, club member, member’s family, or guest should be logged-in, with deer sex and weight at pin out board or cabin.
6. Hunting club gates:
A. There are two (2) designated gates that can be driven through. Each has green pain signifying as pass through with marked vehicle parking beyond gate with red paint.
B. Most all other gates have red paint signifying as gates not to be driven through during hunting season.
C. Gates and parking can only be driven through during hunting season to recover found harvest and not to be looking for harvest.
D. All gates for vehicle security reasons can be just passing through for more secure vehicle parking.
7. Pin-out board rules:
A. Pin-out board has been established for HUNTING SAFETY and to help the new club members get acquainted with lease lay out, boundary lines, and numbers associated to green field.
B. No club member is to pin-out another club member to a selected hunting area.
C. No club member can pin-out a selected area to hunt before 4:00 a.m.
8. Keep shooting houses clean of trash.
9. There is no fall turkey season on club lease property. There is no spring turkey hunting on land leased from Wyatt Wright (this property is marked at the river and forty acres at club cabin.)
10. To abstain from the use of alcoholic beverages or illegal or non-prescription drugs.
11. No hunting or possession of rifle, bow, shotgun, spear, slingshot, etc. inside posted boundary of game feeding areas.
12. Know the land lines and property boundaries. If you do not know, FIND OUT!!! Stay off land that is not leased.
